Government communications review

Matt Tee, Permanent Secretary of Government Communications, has recently completed his review of government direct communications. His review suggests that a new communications department should be set up within the Cabinet Office which will eventually replace the COI and have a more strategic role in co-ordinating communication and marketing planning and across government.

Social marketing - the Scottish way

I've spent the last few days in Scotland, meeting social marketing project teams with NHS Health Scotland.

NHS Health Scotland is working with local NHS Health Boards to use social marketing to tackle a range of health issues, with some support from The NSMC. Rowena and I got the chance to meet two teams who are doing great work to raise breastfeeding initiation rates.
